Week Of Wonders

Week of Wonders: Feature Band

Week Of Wonders

I really dug Restraint, released last year by Orca Team. Unfortunately, as things go, Orca Team took a hiatus not long after the album was released. Now front-man Leif Anders (who has also joined The Intelligence) is back with a new project, a somewhat Seattle underground power group featuring members of Orca Team, The Intelligence, The Torn ACLs and Health Problems. That band is called Week of Wonders. Read More »Week of Wonders: Feature Band

Kinski

Kinski: Conflict Free Diamonds

Kinski

I’m a car guy. It’s pretty damn obvious. I gave up my 1974 BMW (sadly) back in December, but that makes my daily driver a jet black (interior and exterior) 1979 El Camino. The thing is beastly, with a 350 four barrel carb and dual exhaust. The torque gives me tingles. Likewise, I get that meaty, pedal-to-the-metal feeling when I listen to “Conflict Free Diamonds”, the latest from Seattle band Kinski. Read More »Kinski: Conflict Free Diamonds

Tullycraft

Tullycraft: Lost in Light Rotation

Tullycraft

Every Scene Needs A Center, the brilliant LP from 2007, was the last time we heard from Seattle’s Tullycraft. That was six years ago. A few years after Every Scene, the band called it quits, but the hiatus was thankfully short and they’re back! Reformed anew and with some fresh tunes, the band will release Lost in Light Rotation this spring via their long-time US home Magic Marker Records (slated for a UK release on Fortuna Pop). Telekinesis

Telekinesis: Ghosts And Creatures

Telekinesis

Telekinesis premiered their new track “Ghosts And Creatures” off the forthcoming Dormarion earlier this week on Stereogum, and I caught the post after main member Michael Lerner’s sister posted the link on a well known social network. The first thing I picked up in their premiere is that the album was produced by Spoon’s Jim Eno. That’s connection number two I have to this album. Read More »Telekinesis: Ghosts And Creatures

Throw Me The Statue

Throw Me The Statue: Sharpshooters (BOAT Cover)

Throw Me The Statue

Can you remember 2006? I can. In particular, I can remember a little Seattle band I discovered as they neared the release of their debut LP, Songs That You Might Not Like. That band was and still is called BOAT. I’ve been a huge fan ever since.

BOAT is now prepared to drop their fifth LP, Pretend To Be Brave. The first 100 who pre-order the new album, available for pre-order in February, will receive a limited edition cassette with digital download of BOAT’s friends covering the new album. It’s called Pretend To Be BOAT. Read More »Throw Me The Statue: Sharpshooters (BOAT Cover)

The Horde & The Harem: Chasing Crows (Video)

The Horde And The Harem

At FensePost, we pride ourselves in not necessarily being the most timely site out there. We don’t care about breaking the next big band because, well, someone else probably already has. Instead, we prefer to focus on providing you, the reader, with great content. Sometimes that means covering a band of which you are already familiar, and sometimes it means introducing you to new bands and their previous releases. You can probably guess what we’re getting at here… Read More »The Horde & The Harem: Chasing Crows (Video)

The Pharmacy: Feature

The Pharmacy

I remember listening to the first record by The Pharmacy. It’s raw and has the rough edges often familiar to a new band. But it was good. That was years ago, and the band has come a long way since; their new release is called Stoned & Alone and, when compared with that early LP… well, there’s just no comparing them. Vinca Minor: The Time Of You (MP3)

Vinca Minor

Vinca Minor is a Seattle artist Matt Menovcik, blending classical piano with electronic-influenced synth for a hugely surreal, utterly drowning sound. Within “The Time Of You”, off his new album Capital Of Sorrow, an intense piano soundscape is backed by heavy drone-like tones. The song is minimal but encompassing; a fully instrumental, soundtrack-like tune. Read More »Vinca Minor: The Time Of You (MP3)
