The Babies were a short-lived, 4-piece indie folk-centric garage rock band. They released two studio LPs and a number of singles between 2010 and 2012, including Our House on the Hill which found its way onto Woodsist Records.
The band included four members: Kevin Morby (Woods), Cassie Ramone (Vivian Girls), Justin Sullivan, and Brian Schleyer. Schleyer ultimately replaced original bassist Nathanial Stark, aka Crazy Nate, in late 2011 or early 2012.
The Babies were active until about 2014, when Cassie Ramone announced they would no longer create music due to her and Morby focusing their efforts on their respective solo careers.

Light at 4am, light until 10pm; it makes for some early mornings and late (yeah, I’m getting old)…
The Best LPs of 2012 Countdown: 10 to 1
Finally, I present to you my top 10 records of 2012. Once again, we begin with a pair of honorary mentions — the recent single that’s leading into my most anticipated album of 2013, and an album I know would have made the top 50 had I checked it out in advance of compiling and…
Fense’s Radio Show: December 7, 2012
A long night, but no matter. I learned long ago that spending a bit extra time doing something you love… well, it’s a good thing! Stuarto sent along a text asking if I could pick up his 8pm show and I obliged. Being a mere few hours from show time, I just threw together an…
Fense’s Radio Show: November 9, 2012
Last week I returned to the present with only a few throwbacks to the 90s toward the end of the show. The split digital/vinyl show featured new tracks from Sleeping Bag, The Babies, Sweater Girls, Gospel Claws, Suturee and Thunder Power. We also featured a few favorites since the year 2000 with tracks by The…
The Babies: Feature
If you aren’t familiar with The Babies, let me give you a far-too-brief backstory. The Babies began as Cassie Ramone (Vivian Girls), Kevin Morby (Woods) and Justin Sullivan (Bossy). They’ve since added a fourth and will be releasing their sophomore LP, Our House On The Hill, November 13 on Woodsist Records.
