Woods Prepare 10th Studio Album “Love is Love” and I Love it!

First off, I have to say I love WOODS. Their last three albums–City Sun Eater in the River of Light, With Light And With Love and Bend Beyond–not only made it into my list of favorite albums of the year, each of them cracked the top 5.

So yeah, you could say I’m pretty excited to have a new one promised for 2017. Right on the heels of the stellar City Sun Eater.

And we now have the first taste off the forthcoming LP: a song called “Love is Love”, also the title of their new album.

Initial impression (which is absolutely no surprise to me): I LOVE IT!

“Love is Love” finds Woods drawing extensive influence from last year’s record, which featured Ethiopan-style jazz horns, punchy staccato psychedelic guitars, and Jeremy Earl’s signature falsetto vocals.

The band notes about the song and their forthcoming LP:

Love is Love was written and recorded in the two months immediately following the election, but it’s not a record borne entirely of angry, knee-jerk reaction to what America is becoming. Instead, it’s a meditation on love, and on what life means now.

Love is Love will be WOODS’ tenth studio album.

The new LP will be available April 21 via Woodsist, where you can pre-order it now. You can be sure this will be a welcome addition to my collection as quickly as humanly possible.
