Abbey over at Sound On The Sound mentioned yesterday that Quiet Life has become her sunny day soundtrack. Yeah, that’s about right. The band has a northwest style of folk-rock that definitely has a summer feel, and it comes across nicely in the dual video for their songs “Cave Country” and “No Surprise”.
But they’re not from the northwest, they’re from New London, Connecticut.
“Cave Country” is a laid back, good-time folk song whereas “No Surprise” has a bit of an upbeat kick to it.
Both are instant favorites, easy to enjoy and perfect for the pending summer days, and warm summer nights.
I honestly LOVE this video. It screams good times. The old truck, roadside coffee with old glass dishes, new friends, and that’s all before we hit “No Surprise”! There’s nothing bad about this video; it merely gets the NSFW label thanks to the couple stripping down and taking a dip in the water at the end.
Both “Cave Country” and “No Surprise” are off Quiet Life’s recent LP, Big Green, out now on Safety Meeting Records
