Is it just me or is there an overabundance of indie Christmas tunes being released this year? As in, substantial quantities more than usual. Maybe I’m just paying attention this time ’round. Anyway, one of the better ones I’ve heard as we approach the holiday season is “I’m A Snowman” by Ohio’s best pop group Bears.
“I’m A Snowman” follows the path Bears has taken over the past year or so; their sound is maturing and they’re honing in on the greatness they build with albums like Bears and singles like Who Knows. As found on these releases, “I’m A Snowman” is built upon a foundation of folky, psychedelic indie-pop. All of it is super catchy.
On Christmas day, Bears are releasing their new 7″, Snowman, packed with four Christmas tunes and a download card. The release is a limited pressing of 250 on red wax, and the download comes with an extra two bonus Christmas tunes the band recorded.
