The Smashing Pumpkins are an alternative rock band out of Chicago, Illinois. They formed in 1988 with the original lineup (pictured above, left to right) of D’Arcy Wretzky, Jimmy Chamberlain, Billy Corgan, and James Iha.
The band experience mainstream success upon the release of their sophomore album, Siamese Dream (1993), and followed it with the groundbreaking double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995). They remain active today, despite a hiatus between 2000 and 2006, and have undergone several lineup changes over the years.
Below, you’ll find a complete collection of album reviews, song reviews, features, music videos, lists, and more covered on FensePost that feature or include The Smashing Pumpkins.

The ones I recommend, similarly, are pulled from my collection. Today I’m looking at the 1993 LP Siamese Dream by alt-rock band The Smashing Pumpkins.
Today I want to tell a story about The Smashing Pumpkins and their impact and influence on my early music years. For this, I’ll be taking a trip back to 1995 and the release of the follow of to their phenomenal LP Siamese Dream. Yep, I’m talking about Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
