I can’t think of shoegaze as a sub-genre without thinking of three instrumental bands in its original late 80s early 90s heyday: My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and this band: Ride. All three made a resurgence in the 2010s, releasing new music and reissuing old. The latest to resurface is this, Ride’s simply titled 4 EPs.

Ignore The Ignorant is an album defined by volume and electricity, and the single “We Share The Same Skies” is pure, raw British rock. There’s little new here, but for the most part that’s OK because The Cribs dish out one damn catchy hit in “We Share The Same Skies”. ‘Romance Is Boring’ Decalres Los Campesinos!

UK punk meets indie-pop band Los Campesinos! has announced their new album, Romance Is Boring. With an extensively packed tracklist, the band boasts it is their first foray into experimenting with more orchestration with an emphasis on brass. Recorded over the summer here in Seattle, as well as in Connecticut and Monmouthshire (my guess, somewhere in the UK), Los Campesinos! gives us a sneak peek at the themes behind Romance Is Boring, saying the album is about the death and decay of the human body, lost love, mental breakdown, and football.
