We’ve had seven sunny weekends in a row, which must be some kind of record for the Northwest. As such, it’s been the perfect time to take out the Bimmer. And in related news, Andi’s dad thought it would be a fun project to spend a weekend sanding it down and giving it a new paint job. Score.
Now on to music: Stuarto, the host leading into my 10pm Friday night show at KSVR and KSVU, and I have been concocting plans. These brief quarter-hour strategy sessions that take place in the minutes before my show are invigorating; this is the stuff I love to do, and actually do on a day-to-day basis. But there’s even greater passion when it involves music.
I’m not going to let slip the plan yet, as they are far from finalization, but I will say that it has re-lit the FensePost fire. That excitement behind discovering new bands, rediscovering old favorites, and, to an extent, creating something else to mark my stamp on and put out in the world.
As such, the May 18 show had a few new faces in it — some great bands that will be releasing records in the very near future, or just released them a short time ago. And, for good measure, I threw in a few rediscovered oldies.
