Should: Turned Tables (Video)

should

Should has returned after 13 years with a new record, Life A fire Without Sound, courtesy Words On Music. Marc Ostermeier and Tanya Maus of Austin continue Should in the way they left off — beautifully pleasant and minimal shoegaze pop. “Turned Tables” fits this description nicely with a dream-like melody and soft, dual vocals.

“Turned Tables” also receives video treatment, which can be seen below. Despite the band’s more-than-decade of existence, Ostermeier and Maus have maintained a youthful edge in their song-craft that is portrayed nicely here. In some ways, the music and video remind me a bit of “Our Younger Noise” by Letting Up Despite Great Faults.

This video features Isabella Bonaduce (daughter of Danny Bonaduce) and Blues Williams.

Of course, LUDGF was originally influenced by Swedish pop group The Radio Dept. So, I guess the next big question is whether The Radio Dept. drew a hint of inspiration from Should. Either way, fans of both the aforementioned artists should find Should a welcome addition to their playlist.

Check out the “Turned Tables” video and sample the track below. Then head over to Words On Music and pick up Like A Fire Without Sound.
