Some of the best music videos aren’t really that, they’re simply visual accompaniment to the supporting audio. Small independent bands that utilize filmed visual elements in their performances, likewise, tend to possess something special. While I’m not sure if My Cousin I Bid You Farewell has video elements in their performances, they do fit the former statement in their video accompaniment to “Style & Grace”.
The video is largely black and white (color only coming in during the final minute or so), blending well with the emotive vocals and soft piano. It’s a bit of a change from some of the MCIBYF library, namely “Neverland”, which is larger all-around, from volume in vocals to the same in instrumentation. While I dig “Neverland” and the volume certainly adds a unique element to the song, it’s simply not as powerful as “Style & Grace”. But, then again, I’m a sucker for songs packed with emotion.
Below you’ll find an mp3 for “Neverland” and the video for “Style & Grace”.
