The Postelles: Boy’s Best Friend [Video]

The Postelles by Jackie Roman

The Postelles use guitars that have a 50s doo-wop sound, but the vocals are a bit more modern—if you can call late 60s pop more modern. Then again, there’s a soul here as well. This band comes to us from Retone Records, the folks that brought us Voxhaul Broadcast earlier this month.

The video for “Boy’s Best Friend” is pretty simple and is primarily the band performing the song in random locations, like in a house and in the forest. Here the troupe doesn’t really look like their influences—that 50s and 60s era pop—but I don’t care. It’s the long hair on the lead singer that does it.

But he’s not always front and center. He switches lead with the other guitarist on songs like “Hey Little Sister”. If you dig old-school pop, The Postelles are one band you should really check out. Their self-titled, six-song EP is available for purchase on iTunes.
