On Air at KSVR: February 15, 2013 Playlist

Chicken And Veggies

I broke the rules this week on my very unoriginally titled radio show on KSVR Mount Vernon. The Indie Music Show featured a few tracks that are, quite distinctly, not even close to being indie. And one of them kicked off the show. It’s the new track by David Bowie called “Where Are We Now?” Shortly thereafter, I crossed the ocean for a set from France, where I played a track by famed singer and Masculin Féminin actress Chantal Goya and another by Serge Gainsbourg. Building a 2 meter ham radio antenna

Before I took over, per the norm, host Chef Stuarto brought me on air to discuss the coming show. He asked if there was a highlight track I wanted to talk about. The discussion centered around the first track I would play that evening – Jacco Gardner’s “The Ballad of Little Jane”, which I likened to a modern rendition of The Beattles’ later-era. (more…)

Fense’s Radio Show: December 9, 2011

Stuarto Glasser, host of the All Around the World Music Show, called me up a little after 5pm Friday and asked if I could fill in for him. Thinking it would be a great way to attract a few more listeners I agreed. I headed home and put together a playlist of some of my favorite indie artists from around the world. (more…)

BMW 2002

As the days and nights get colder, and we enter full-fledged winter, it becomes more and more difficult to justify taking the BMW out. In the cold, it’s almost better to just walk. But I braved the chill and barely-working defrost on December 2, taking the car out for one last night show before the new year. It would be a good one, filled with dreamy music pretty much throughout. (more…)

Fense’s Radio Show: October 28, 2011

I didn’t begin this show well. Stuarto had a pre-recorded spot and, given it was only my fourth show, I didn’t realize the little button up top where it said “iPod” needed to be on. This led to a little stumbling in the beginning on my part; I mumbled a few words then played several promos. After I realized the error of my ways (kudos to Stuarto), the show went off without a hitch. And it was a good one.

Lots of great tunes, many from Sweden, most with an electronic vibe. I launched into everything with a few songs that I dubbed as “haunting.” Here we go.
