Bakers At Dawn: After The War [Video]

Thanks to a recent post by Swedesplease, the premier US blog focused entirely on Swedish artists, I’ve discovered a new netlabel. The label: Peppermill Records. The post covers Bakers At Dawn, a Swedish artist that in the past year or so has released a few items on a FensePost favorite, Series II Records. Their latest finds the band diving headlong into a more experimental sound than the folk-pop on the Series II releases.

Folk-pop is the name of the game on the self titled debut of Bakers At Dawn. For the most part, the thirteen tracks contained within meet their mark; they’re melodic and pleasant—everything we know Swedish pop to encompass. Swedish pop is, at least in terms of its homogenous nature, kinda like 90s US alternative—it is easily recognizable as Swedish pop and the same is true for Swedish folk-pop.
