The Colorful Side of Real Estate

2 Singles by Real Estate

I’m a sucker for colorful vinyl, and a pair of new-ish singles by Real Estate on Domino Records are the latest to adorn my collection. I snagged this pair recently on an online auction binge (more from that series of draws coming soon), and have been aching to get this vinyl on the player. These 7-inches highlight “It’s Real” and “Easy” off the band’s 2011 LP, Days.

Real Estate's "Easy" 7-inch Single

Easy b/w Exactly Nothing

Housed on a lavender slab of wax, “Easy” received a bit of hype around a video that portrayed the “dark side of the band’s fan-base” with an over eager group of bullying street team members. The video follows their encounters with uninterested passersby, attempts at payola, an abduction, and their subsequent change of heart. The b-side is an exclusive track called “Exactly Nothing”. Stream the B-side and watch “Easy” below.

Blue Lebaron by Real Estate on Vinyl

It’s Real b/w Blue Lebaron

“Blue Lebaron” is an instrumental track much like what I remember from the band’s 2009 Mexican Summer EP, Reality, which came on clear vinyl. Here, the color matches the B-side name and does so vibrantly. “It’s Real”, however, finds likeness with “Easy” which is no surprise given the tracks share a home on Days.
