I’m loving Adam Hill‘s latest sounds. Always one to produce the lighter side of folk, with soft acoustic songs, Two Hands, Tulips (his new LP) expands the minimal sound slightly with a broader range of songwriting and instrumentation, going so far as pairing folk with a dabbling of other genres.
“French Films” is a prime example. The song has his signature minimalist folk, but it also adds in some strings and even some sampled sounds. Hill’s songwriting, too, has progressed well beyond what we’ve heard in his past work. It shows advancement not only as a musician but a songwriter and lyricist as well.
And “French Films” is merely the beginning. Check out Adam Hill’s new LP, Two Hands, Tulips, out now and available on bandcamp.
