Peace - Vancouver BC Band

Obsession comes in many forms, even when targeted so narrowly as to be about music. The latest comes from Vancouver, BC post-punk band Peace, on the verge of releasing their sophomore LP on Suicide Squeeze Records. The album will hit stores in mid October.

To be honest, I have had a hard time getting past the first three tracks, not because what follows isn’t worthy of my ears, but because the first three are just that good. The album opens with “Your Hand In Mine”, followed by “Fun And Games” and “The Perp Walk”.

Upon first listening to this trio of excellence, you get the impression Peace has a darkly poetic side, masking their dramatic lyrics through the somewhat flat and emotionless delivery of frontman Dan Geddes, making it very cool. SPIN provides the perfect description: moonlit… with a heavy heart and dead eyes.

“Your Hand In Mine” is the first “public” taste of The World Is Too Much With Us, and it follows very closely what you’ll get throughout the album: wild but controlled guitar riffs, intense lyrics and vocals, and hypnotic percussion.

Grab “Your Hand In Mine” below and watch for the new album come October.
