The Greencoats: Honey [Video]

the-greencoats

Opening with a tantrum of noisy guitars that give way to a British punk-pop sound that was initially reminiscent of Sweden’s The Faintest Ideas, “Honey” by The Greencoats mixes that sound with one a bit calmer – if you can ever call music with a punk influence calm. Ringing distorted guitars and mellow vocals alike carry good hooks, while the drums span between a consistent beat and wild beating. “Honey” is a simple video and its greatness comes from good video editing.

Like the aforementioned group, The Greencoats hail from Gothenburg, Sweden. “Honey” is wild, but “Hello!” dabbles more in a 60s-era garage pop sound. Both songs can be found on the band’s Spring EP, available from Tomt Recordings. Spring came out back in 2008, but band leader Ramo Spatalovic passed along a note, saying: A full length album is in progress. Due to be released in 2010.
