‘Romance Is Boring’ Decalres Los Campesinos!

UK punk meets indie-pop band Los Campesinos! has announced their new album, Romance Is Boring. With an extensively packed tracklist, the band boasts it is their first foray into experimenting with more orchestration with an emphasis on brass. Recorded over the summer here in Seattle, as well as in Connecticut and Monmouthshire (my guess, somewhere in the UK), Los Campesinos! gives us a sneak peek at the themes behind Romance Is Boring, saying the album is about the death and decay of the human body, lost love, mental breakdown, and football.

Recorded by producer John Goodmanson, Romance Is Boring will feature collaborations with some pretty notable names, including Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart and Parenthetical Girls’ Zac Pennington. The album will hit February 1, 2010, again via Wichita Recordings. For those vinyl junkies (like myself) out there, mark November 2 on your calendar – they’ll be dropping the first single from the record for “There Are Listed Buildings”.
