Father Abraham

Boston native Father Abraham is a hip hop artist baked from a different mold. His thought-inspiring words bring forth the power of joy, but do not distort the reality in which he lives. It is quite a social distortion to hear such a funky fresh and uplifting beats that is fronted by lines like We all go to hell in a fast car. It’s fun, it’s sad, it’s the purity of endangered lives. Through his own personal battles, this MC exploits all sense of being.

At times Aesop Rock comes to mind. RBX at others. But neither are completely accurate. This is Father Abraham, the struggling MC dealing with the same pains of truth that the common everyman deals with. And he conveys his feelings of alienation through the complicated cut “Spacemarch” from his debut album I Am Not A Sailor, I Am The Captain. Trust in this – the Father may very well be just two or three more unemployment checks away from begin the next great conscious rapper.
