The Delfields: Ogres [Video]

The Delfields are an indie pop band out of Jersey and yesterday they self-released their LP Ogres. It’s filled with excellent hazy pop songs that mix a classic sound with a modern one, and the title track is no exception. Songs like these fit well with artists like The Lodger and Central Services.
The video for their title track is an interesting look inside the soul. The protagonist, continually plagued by demons, constructs special glasses that hide the demons from his vision. The realm of possibilities behind its meaning are extensive: hiding oneself from all the sadness in the world, a suppression of fears, putting behind one’s tormented past… the list goes on. The meaning is for the viewer to decide.
What’s more obvious is The Delfields are excellent at creating great pop songs. “Ogres” and “Fawn Flight” both have a fair share of bounce; it’s basically what can be expected on Ogres.
