The Nightgowns: band from Tacoma

The Nightgowns are a Tacoma, WA band that creates synth heavy pop music. “Cosmic Clancy” off their LP Sing Something masterfully conveys the buoyancy of synth pop and combines it with mopey-yet-upbeat vocals. Contrasting nicely with “Cosmic Clancy” is “Pppps”. While maintaining the core elements known to the band, it is more a ballad than an upbeat pop tune.

The Nightgowns began as The Elephants but morphed into the great band they are today as time passed. The moniker may have changed, along with selections from their lineup, but the band remains as poised to have fun as ever — they’re known for an absolutely outstanding live set featuring a crowd favorite: instrument swapping. As for these tracks, they sound fit for an overcast or even rainy day, but don’t be surprised if they make it onto some summer mixes.
