Mew: Repeaterbeater

Denmark’s Mew is prepping to drop their third studio album, this time via Columbia Records. No More Stories… is its name and “Repeaterbeater” is the second track now available from the release. For fans of …And The Glass Handed Kites, the group’s sophomore release, you’ll be happy to hear that, at least on “Repeaterbeater”, the traits that made Glass so great remain in-tact.

Those traits include the following: compounded falsetto vocals and super hook-filled, glam-ridden, math-y guitar chords and percussion. Yes, they’re all over “Repeaterbeater”, making it match the greats off Mew’s earlier work, like “Chinaberry Tree” and “The Zookeeper’s Boy”. If “Repeaterbeater” is a sign of what’s to come, it’s no surprise a major like Columbia is behind No More Stories…

No More Stories… will hit stores in mid August.
