See Me River: Don’t Pray For Blood [Video]

See Me River

Seattle is known for some pretty strong folk rock acts that pull influence from bands of similar genres but from four and five decades back. See Me River is merely the latest to join this list and their recent video for “Don’t Pray For Blood”, filmed in 16mm on the beautiful Vashon Island, demonstrates this well.

Of the more modern Pacific Northwest artists, See Me River can be likened to Fleet Foxes (sans the harmonies), The Moondoggies, and The Dutchess And The Duke (sans the dutchess).

“Don’t Pray For Blood” is filled with percussion rim shots, back-country hand-claps, and an over-abundance of acoustic guitar strums. The video follows suit, hinting of decades past and catching the listener with infectious vocal hooks and guitar riffs. “Don’t Pray For Blood” can be found on Time Machine (Aviation Records, 2008).

Below is a track (“Ed Jackson”) off See Me River’s upcoming EP, The Great Unwashed. The sound See Me River dishes out here hints a bit more of the 80s, but it’s good nonetheless.
