The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart

Ever since Up Against The Legends by The Legends came to dominate my playlist, I’ve been obsessed with super distorted pop music, and I’ve spent countless hours attempting in vain to find an adequate compliment to that album. There have been several close calls, but none have had the power The Legends packed into the jewel case until now. Introducing: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. What a lovely name for a band!

The video, shot entirely on Super 8 film, has an old-time 70s to early 80s feel and features two lovely ladies being silly and doing what young ladies do. The song has a similar distorted pop as my hero, but with less clarity and production and no complimentary effects mixed into the vocals.

Below you can find the video, along with two mp3 streams/downloads off their self-titled 2009 debut on Slumberland Records (US) and Fortuna Pop (UK). If my assumption is correct, this will be a must-have album of 2009!
