Wildbirds & Peacedrums: Doubt/Hope [Video]

Wildbirds & Peacedrums

Written by Fense

A drum/vocals only group is a rare thing. But, before you dismiss the theory behind such an oddity, you’ve gotta check out Wildbirds & Peacedrums. This Swedish duo is aptly titled – wild vocals on par with (and this may be a bit of a stretch), say, Nina Simone and soothing, hypnotic tribal-like percussion.

“Doubt/Hope” is the first video off their latest album, Heartcore. It’s a little different from the mp3 included from said album below. The video features the song’s live version and, if you’ve seen anything else from this vivacious duo, is quite on par with their earlier material, namely “There Is No Light”.

The unfortunate part is as follows: the video lacks the dually compiled vocals and hand claps found on the album track. Still, “Doubt/Hope” is an excellent foray into the unknown, proving that a drum/vocals only group can not only exist, they can create some damn amazing music as well.
